Look at the progress my Amaryllis is making!
This may not be exciting to you, but it is to me
because I have a GANGRENE thumb.
See it snowing outside the window in the first photo?
Cool, eh?
Now it has 3 lovely blooms on it and I couldn't be more proud.
I didn't kill the darn thing!
This was a Christmas gift from one of my brothers.
Enjoy the beauty!
:-)

That's a beautiful flower. Will you plant it outside in the spring or is it a permanent house plant?
My wife actually grew one and it recently blossomed. She has "Brown thumb" disorder too!
If that was mine I would have killed it on the second day. Nice work!
Hi Green,
No, it will only last a few months.
It was given to me in the red bowl as just a bulb in a sack. I had to "plant" it and water it.
Hi Buffalo,
Did she try planting it outside?
I'm not sure, but I'm under the impression it won't live.
Hi Tony,
Welcome!
Thanks..I'm shocked it has turned out as well as it has. And it has a few more blooms on it yet to blossom. (Providing I don't kill it!)
That's one funky flower! :]
Gangreen thumb!! Hehehe!
Congrats Kayla!! Your amaryllis is beautiful.
Remember that tea with the flower in it? I still think that was so freaky!

Lovely! I am a firm believer that every girl should surround herself with flowers. (For me, they are cut flowers, because like you, I'm not good with plants ;)
Kayla, if it grew from a bulb then it should come back again next year. When this one dies assuming the leaves fall off of the flower naturally and not because they are dry and brown, it means that the flower has pollinated itself.
Plant it in the ground and see... if it doesn't work, then you've lost nothing, save the time it takes to plant it.
Hi Dogga,
It's funky, alright! Staring at one of the blooms for a long time starts to look like the stripes are moving.
Hi Snow,
Thank you!
That flowering tea was funky too.
It tasted good, but "wild" if you know what I mean.
Hi Celeste,
Flowers not only brighten the room, but they also make me feel more feminine..I like that.
Hi Green,
I'll try it. The only thing I'm afraid of is the weird weather we have. If I can just keep it alive until spring!
