How cool is this "smiling" saw fish? I went to the Dallas World Aquarium in early March. Had to be at my yearly Oklahoma work conference and took a Saturday to spend the day in Dallas. Lots of fun.
Why a sloth is housed in an aquarium I have no idea! Cute.
Absolutely don't touch the sloth! Wouldn't he be too lazy to react? Ha

Oklahoma Business/Vacation Trip

I'm off to my annual trip to Oklahoma.
The flight was frightening as we took off in a thunderstorm.
Actually saw lightening once in flight.
Are they suppose to take off in such circumstances?!
Anyway, what would a trip to OK be without (yet another) stop at the Art Museum?
Above is the large sculpture Dale Chihuly designed.
I may have told you before, his wife is from OK,
so he dedicated a permanent exhibit here.
Sweet, eh?

These purple glass rods are implanted within the real tree log.
This is one of my favorite pieces.

This is another favorite. It looks like the giant flowers in "Whoville"

by Dr. Seuss.

This is a lovely sculpture of Cherubim and a dove

Who knows what this is? Just thought is was different
from Chihuly's other pieces.

A classic example of Chihuly's bowls, or clamshells

The gorgeous hallway with the glass art in the ceiling.
The ceiling at the Bellagio in Las Vegas was done this way
by Chihuly also

This chandelier is designed by Chihuly, and made with
Waterford crystal....Nice

Have to take a trip to the Museum's store.
You can buy a small Chihuly bowl for $6000
Any takers?!

We stopped by the Museum cafe and had tea and dessert.
I had Creme Brulee while my sister (holding cup) had
3 samples of homemade ice cream and a crispy cookie.

On the way home, we stopped by the Memorial.
It's very well done and moving.

I spent a lot of time with my sister and her family, including a niece and nephew. We laughed and carried on like only sisters can!

This is a real photo by Jeff Kerr of a Shelf Cloud
over Saskatchewan.
They typically lead thunderstorms, which is
different from Wall Clouds, that
trail storm systems.
All I know is if I saw this approaching me, it would be cool to see, and
at the same time make me crawl under the bed and whimper

Look at the progress my Amaryllis is making!

because I have a GANGRENE thumb.
See it snowing outside the window in the first photo?
Cool, eh?
Now it has 3 lovely blooms on it and I couldn't be more proud.
I didn't kill the darn thing!
This was a Christmas gift from one of my brothers.

Yeah! Proof positive that it actually does snow in Alabama.
We only had around and inch of snowfall, so these
neighbors down the street must have stolen
snow from other yards to make this snowman.
He was quite large .

Rainbows across Norway

This is a beautiful catch of multiple rainbows across Norway.
I tried and tried to embed a video from Youtube, and it never worked.
The video was a live version of Carrie Underwood
singing Guns n Roses "Sweet Child O'Mine"
I came upon it by accident, and was totally
blown away that she actually pulled it off!

Yea! I finally got the video. Hang in with her for the fist minute...then BAM!

Love has gone down the drain...
I would like the support of my blogger friends now.
I experienced a nasty violent outburst from
a man I thought was genuinely kind, fun-loving and personable.
I am very sad to say that I found out otherwise.
Why tell you?
Because I need all of the support I can get.
I am grateful for the love I experienced with this man,
but I can now clearly see he is not the man he presented to me.
He sees all of the "sacrifices" he made to me was because he loved me.
I never asked for nor desired the "sacrifices" he speaks of.
I believe he is re-living his past girlfriend experiences
that have gone sour.
I choose to detach myself from such a person and experience.
Please let me know of your experiences if indeed you have experienced one..
I feel baffled.

~1 I weigh myself every day to make sure I don't turn into a giant cow!
~2 Whenever I have to climb or descend stairs, I have to count them
~3 I have a ritual of cleansing and moisturizing my face before I can go to bed...even if it is 4am when I return home.
~4 I cannot go to bed until it is at least midnight...I'm a night owl for sure
~5 My cat Gracie sleeps in the bed with me (most of the time)
~6 I could watch all of the Jason Bourne movies without getting tired of them
~7 I've probably seen every Andy Griffith show ever made
~ 8 I long to find the man I am meant to spend the rest of my life with.

The ring was actually approximately 100 kilometers above the trees.

Alien Invasion? And Moodring CD

Cool lenticular cloud captured over Wyoming..
These layered clouds are typically formed by high winds over rugged terrain, and particularly apparent when few other clouds are in the sky

On a totally unrelated note, I ordered the Third of Never Moodring CD
from CDBaby, and received the coolest order confirmation email EVER!

Persian Rice and Will Rogers...What? You're looking as though the two have nothing in common?!

While I was on vacation recently, I made one HELL of a pot of steamed Persian rice. This photo is from the bottom of the large pot and is very crunchy rice.
The steamed rice cooks on top of this piece (inverted) and turns out very light and fluffy...not sticky. That is, IF you do it right!
Ha..I've done it wrong many times.
Crush and dilute a little saffron and pour over the top of the steamed rice and it makes a lovely dish.
All you ever wanted to know about making rice, right??
